Ashanti Sankofa Inc, formerly AMI Resources Inc, is a Canada-based exploration and development-stage company. It is focused on evaluating and acquiring gold exploration projects either directly from the government or through purchases/options with other companies/individuals. Through its subsidiaries, Ashanti Sankofa Inc and Ashanti Sankofa Limited, it focuses on its exploration activities in West Africa. The North Ashanti Gold Project lies in the south-central part of Ghana, West Africa over 220 kilometers (km) from the capital city of Accra. The North Ashanti Project covers over a 10 km segment of the Konongo-Axim Shear System, or Ashanti Shear. This shear zone hosts a number of deposits and operating gold mines. The Konongo mine, which adjoins the North Ashanti Project to the north, and the Obuasi mine located to the southwest. It holds interest in a prospecting license Anuoro. The North Anuoro zone contains gold resource of approximately 90, 000 ounces.
