Fonds Bijzondere Journalistieke Projecten (Fonds BJP)
www.fondsbjp.nlSubsidies for books, articles, podcasts, etc.; Subsidies for investigative journalism; Subsidies for talent development. The Dutch Fund for In-depth Journalism awards subsidies to individual journalists for articles, long-reads, photo reportages, journalistic books/ biographies and investigative reports (tv, radio, online, print). The goal is to support journalists who want to produce in-depth stories which would not be possible without this extra funding. The subsidy is open to all journalists and authors who have a contract for their story or book to be published or broadcast in Dutch. There are also separate subsidies available for young journalists. All applications are assessed by an independent committee of media professionals. The Fund also awards an annual prize (Brusseprijs) for the best journalistic book and runs two journalist-in-residence programmes: one in Amsterdam (at the Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study in the Humanities and Social Sciences) and one in Athens (at the Netherlands Institute Athens). The Dutch Fund for In-depth Journalism was set up in 1990 by an independent group of journalists and is funded by the Dutch government.
