ICS is a fully accreditation university prep-school that is built upon Christian Biblical values and precepts. We are WASC and ACSI accredited: Western Association of Schools and Colleges, and Association of Christian Schools International. We operate two campuses: (1) Ma On Shan Kindergarten Campus that serves 3 and 4 year olds; (2) Shek Mun Campus that serves 5 to 18 year olds. Our curriculum is American and follows an American grade level construct. Biblical principles are embedded into the curricular and extracurricular program, as well as, taught through our Bible Department. School-wide initiatives include: (1) Differentiated learning. We provide student learning support using a Tiered Model for students with differing rates of learning. Our support ranges from students with mild cognitive delays (i.e., Bridges Center) to high performing students (i.e., AP courses). (2) Higher Order Thinking Skills. While memory and recall serve a function in learning, we emphasize integration, assimilation, and application of content. (3) Biblical World Integration. We embed Christian philosophy and Biblical principles into our learning activities. (4) Professional Learning Communities. We are beginning to use the construct of PLC's to fully address the learning needs of all = students, teachers, and parents. (5) Mindset. We are moving toward a growth mindset culture that emphasizes the components of (a) attitude, (b) motivation, and (c) effort.
