United Methodist Healthcare Recruitment (UMHR) specializes in the recruitment and placement of Registered Nurses, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Medical Technologists for nonprofit communities. UMHR was originally founded in 2005 as a source of nurses for Wesley Place, a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility in Chicago, but has since expanded to help other nonprofits with their staffing needs. Over the past 12 years, UMHR has placed hundreds of healthcare staff across the United States. Hiring quality nurses and therapists can be one of the biggest challenges an aging services organization faces. Several years ago, CMSS’s Director of Nursing, Rose Policarpio, came up with a solution: she began recruiting nurses and therapists from the Philippines, working with individuals who aspired to live in the United States and had a skill set that is often difficult to find and retain domestically. Today, UMHR mainly recruits from the Philippines and partners with a licensed Manila-based recruitment company.
