Club Andino Universitario (CAU) was formed on 2004 by a group of professionals and university students, all members of the mountaineering team of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. With more than 300 members of different ages and technical experience, we are a one of the most renowned Chilean mountaineering clubs. Love for mountains is what gather us together. In order to bring the Andes mountain range closer to everyone, we give training courses to enable people to approach the mountain safely (such us introduction to mountaineering, rock climbing, ice climbing, glacier travel and crevasse rescuing, among others). We also host an Annual Seminar on Mountain Medicine (https://seminariomm.cl/). We aim to be a national example on terms of sports development, both in an educational and institutional level.
