Transforming Wikipedia into the free interactive timeline for all of history that anyone can edit. Histropedia is a new type of website that will transform the way we visualise history. The vision behind Histropedia is to combine the amazing work being done by Wikipedia with community collaboration to create the world's first timeline for all of history. Our goal is to use the ever-increasing wealth of data that exists within Wikipedia to allow anyone to visualise the history of anything and everything. The foundation of the timeline for all of history will be created by automatically importing Wikipedia articles into an advanced database of events that can be searched, sorted and filtered while being displayed in real-time on fully interactive graphical timelines. Histropedia is an open platform, designed to allow the world to collaborate and share their historical knowledge. We will achieve this open platform by making all the data we import from Wikipedia editable by the public, ensuring the site is completely free to use, and by publishing all timelines created by users of Histropedia under an open licence so anyone can share them with the world.
