Family Action has been a leading provider of services to disadvantaged and socially isolated families since its foundation in 1869. We work with over 45,000 families a year by providing practical, emotional and financial support through over 140 services based in communities across the country. A further 150,000 people benefit from our grants programmes and our training and consultancy services support organisations and professionals in the areas of family support, child care, child protection, safeguarding, child and adult mental health and wellbeing, and adoption, fostering and substitute family care. We tackle some of the most complex and difficult issues facing families today – including domestic abuse, mental health problems, learning disabilities and severe financial hardship. We work with whole families to help them find solutions to problems, no matter how difficult, so that they become safer, stronger and more optimistic about their future.
