The Brain Injury Association of Maryland - BIAMD is a membership based, 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation and a state affiliate of the Brain Injury Association of America. The BIAMD organization was founded in 1983 by family members unable to find answers to their questions about brain injury and concerned about the lack of support services. What began as an idea over three decades ago, has now grown into a statewide organization with over 1000 members providing resource coordination, brain injury prevention programs, community education, training's and advocacy with an emphasis on expanding resources and promoting self determination.
