MapsAlive is the web application that lets you turn any image into an interactive map. Use it to create an interactive floor plan, diagram, photo, or geographic map. Interactive maps let you move your mouse over markers to quickly see images, text and video associated with locations on the map. MapsAlive is used for real estate, museums, campus tours, tourism maps, interactive parts diagrams, and many other purposes. The product is easy enough for anyone to use yet has many advanced features that web developers can leverage to create powerful interactive map solutions. MapsAlive is owned and operated by AvantLogic Corporation of Southwest Harbor, Maine. The business was founded in 1999 as a software consulting company specializing in web applications, commercial grade software, and safety-critical computer systems. A partial list of clients includes ABC Television, Bombardier, DaimlerChrysler, IBM, New York Power Authority, The Art Institute of Chicago, and the State of Vermont. AvantLogic’s focus is MapsAlive, but also provides consulting services to select clients. George Soules is the President and co-founder of AvantLogic. Janice Kenyon is the Vice President and also a co-founder. Soules and Kenyon each hold degrees in Information Sciences from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
