Jails to Jobs is dedicated to equipping previously incarcerated and soon-to–be-released men and women with tools and resources to find employment and successfully re-enter the workforce. It educates this population through conducting workshops in jails and prisons in Northern California, the information included on its website and through its book, “Jails to Jobs: Seven Steps to Employment.” The organization also maintains a searchable directory of free and low-cost tattoo removal programs across the U.S. that now has more than 270 programs in 43 states. In answer to a need to create more programs of this type, Jails to Jobs has published "Tattoo Removal: Establishing a Free or Low-Cost Community Base Program: A How-to Guide." Our goal is to help create a society where giving people a second chance is the rule rather than the exception.
