CASTELO SERVICE PLAZA Famous for its flamed to perfection grilled meats, and remarkable architecture, Castelo was built in 1957 by Yvonne Hanks and Martinho Botelho, founder of Alexandra de Markoff Cosmetics USA. What started as a roadside restaurant on a dirt road in 1957 is now a full service station in one of Brazil's most important highway systems in the state of São Paulo. Castelo Plaza has become a destination and a required stop for travelers along Rodovia Washington Luiz in the northwest region of the state of São Paulo.
