MAFE provides a forum through which family businesses may promote and share experiences on the development of family business governance structures and the management and transfer of such businesses. Apart from presenting a united front, MAFE provides exposure to similar foreign associations and family businesses. Furthermore, MAFE is a forerunner in promoting and providing support to Maltese family businesses and business families in their relation with the Government, a role which is essential to the success of this economic sector. MAFE aims to address and serve the needs of all forms of family owned and/or run enterprises and to advisors working with family firms. As an association, MAFE acknowledges that family enterprises form a substantial part of the nation’s GDP and thus form the backbone of the Maltese economy. To this end, MAFE has already forwarded legislative proposals to the Government to begin making headway to improve upon the structural support that enables family enterprises to grow and flourish through generations. MAFE’s objectives are thus to address all the above issues by providing a platform where members can network, participate in seminars, public lectures, conferences and training courses, seek professional advice and be part of an association that aims to strengthen the position, economic and legal support of family enterprises within the Maltese economy
