Our History of Time -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The history of Cincinnati Time Systems began in the year 1896. Mr. Gamble of Procter & Gamble, in Cincinnati, Ohio, had a wife who had been very ill and was successfully treated by a doctor. To show his appreciation, Mr. Gamble helped the doctor’s clock business get off the ground, which previously was run out of the doctor’s basement. This is when Cincinnati Time Recorder came into being. As a privately held company, CTS has had a number of different owners. In the early 1990’s, Amano purchase Cincinnati Time Recorder and formed Amano-Cincinnati Inc. The company had a mixture of direct sales offices and certified distributors throughout the country. Later, all locations became independent offices. Mark Dykstra, who had a sales management career in payroll and time and attendance, purchased the Michigan office in 1993 and renamed it Cincinnati Time Systems. Since that time, he has guided the company in becoming a dynamic and respected name in the industry and among clients in time-based service offerings.
