Mentor Together
www.mentortogether.orgMentor Together is an award-winning national non-profit organisation that has pioneered the youth mentoring movement in India through innovative programs, technology, mentoring curriculum, & research. We envision a society where all young people have the equality of opportunity to actualize their potential, build their own future and realize their dreams. We have two key programs: Mentor To Go is a technology-enabled mentoring product and program that helps young people in the age group of 18 – 22, from low-income families, access career mentorship across the country, using just their mobile phones. We work with a network of over 150 educational institutions and non-profits across the country, to help students access mentorship during their tertiary education. A core focus is on young women given India's falling female labour force participation rates (read our policy brief on digital mentorship for young women published by Brookings Institution in DC here: bit.ly/digitalmentoringpolicy). Our second program is an in-person school-based mentoring program that focuses on adolescents facing educational disengagement and those who are at higher risk of dropout. The mentoring here is delivered through Mentor Together’s own team of social workers with support from volunteer mentors. The mentorship focuses on a range of different aspects important to the student’s overall well-being and performance: parent and peer relationships, emotional and social skills, self-esteem, future aspirations, and career counselling.
