One World Citizens (OWC) is an international community of young people who have been sharing their ideas for sustainable change online since 2012, helping each other to develop the ideas into local start-ups. To do this online, with access for all youth, they first designed the OWC concept and basic program in 2012-2015. Since 2015, the 17 Global Goals for Sustainable Development have been the basis of everything we do, with 100% focus on: No One Left Behind and WORK of Basic Needs. We create (always in co-creation) projects with enterprising young people from Kenya (Marsabit), Rwanda, Nepal, Kurdistan-Iraq and the Netherlands. As a result, we have now organized unique projects bottom up, low budget and sustainable. Projects in which young people take the lead as Living Legends. The role of Monique van Dam and her team is to unite, facilitate, train and coach them online on a weekly or 2-weekly base. OWC is now (2021) at the point where the projects, in which young people from different countries are working together, deliver working prototypes and concepts that can be immediately implemented in the communities for which they were designed.
