At Afrigienics, we believe that hygiene is at the core of the African health system. Our work supports a clean, safe environment which is essential to the wellbeing of the individual and the community. We recognise that our health systems are often overwhelmed with cases of preventable communicable diseases, costing the state and taxpayers billions each year. Good hygiene practice reinforced by health education and support allows for a great reduction of cases. The socio-economic impact of these diseases, in turn, are greatly mitigated. It is, therefore, the responsibility of governments and individuals to ensure that good hygiene practice is enforced in public and private spaces respectively. We have recently seen the impact of poor hygiene consideration and practice which began with a human transmission of a zoonotic virus; to a global pandemic with countless consequences.
