Portland IPA
www.portlandipa.comThe InterHospital Physicians Association, also known as Portland IPA, is a for-profit corporation, incorporated in the State of Oregon. Since 1983 Portland IPA has been one of the largest and oldest independent practice associations in the United States. Over 3,500 independent and system employed (Providence Medical Group, Legacy, and some OHSU) Primary Care and Specialty Care providers in the Portland Metropolitan area comprise Portland IPA. We deliver messenger type and value based agreements to our members and are experienced in, and currently hold agreements for Commercial, Medicare, and OHP. Our relationship with our members allows us direct access to provide information, education, support, and assistance with processes in the clinic. Beyond delivering an agreement to our providers, we actively work with our contracted health plans around quality metrics and other initiatives so our providers understand and are engaged in a way to realize the best results. Additionally, we work with insurance companies for which we do not hold a contract (provider group is contracted directly with the insurance company and IPA has a service agreement with the insurance company). The agreements exist around delivering insurance company initiatives to our provider groups, communicating what they mean and assisting clinics in developing workflows to meet metrics. Our work with clinics and insurance companies upholds our mission which is to support members by providing services, processes, education and resources to maximize clinical and economic performance.
