David E. T. Garman Concepts Ltd. is a family-owned company which has developed, with experienced consultant design engineers, good working prototypes of the unique & revolutionary AIR CRADLE® Transfer System - an alternative to hoists & slings used globally in person transfer. The company owns the associated international intellectual property; patents & registered trademarks, etc. The AIR CRADLE® Transfer System has been designed for sale, in due course, in the global market. The company is named after David Edmund Talbot Garman OBE, an award-winning British inventor, who was awarded the British Healthcare Trades Association's (BHTA) Lifetime Service Award in 2007 & was honoured, for services to the healthcare industry, by H.M. Queen Elizabeth II in the New Year's Honours List 2015. He formally received his OBE insignia from H.M. Queen Elizabeth II at Windsor Castle on 17 July 2015. Amongst his contributions to the healthcare industry, David founded a company in 1981 which became Mangar International Ltd. (now part of Groupe Winncare SAS) & of which he was Managing Director & subsequently Chairman for 33 years. He retired in January 2014 when Mangar, which was already a successful international company, was sold to a management buyout. Most of Mangar's products, sold internationally in the healthcare, rehabilitation & emergency services' sectors, were invented or co-invented by David.
