The Shanghai Race Club (SRC) is a members club established in China in 1862 for racehorse owners. The SRC showcases European racehorse ownership to people in China, with the goal of attracting new owners to build horse racing teams (racehorses, jockeys, trainers) in Europe. The SRC provides members with services to manage both the setup and commercialization (merchandise, licensing, sponsorship) of European based horse racing teams. The commercial service  becoming increasingly sought after as it both increases the fame of the new owner and provides them with additional revenue (standard 40% of commercial sales revenue ) for racehorse investments. FACTS ABOUT THE SRC The SRC has over 6000 members in Mainland China. The majority of members (Silver membership) are regular buyers of luxury brands with personal wealth value of +GBP500,000. 400 members (Gold membership) have a personal wealth value of +GBP5,000,000. 60 members (Black membership)have a person wealth value of +GBP50,000,000  - 8 of these latter members have a personal wealth value of +GBP500,000,000). The annual SRC Royal Ascot dinner hosted in Shanghai, China in 2014 was attended by over 100 of the city’s leading celebrities, officials and wealthy residents. The follow on SRC Royal Ascot tour featured Miss China 2014 and was covered by multiple luxury fashion magazines. The SRC live racing channel has been to date the only live racing channel in Mainland China, having broadcast over 10,000 live races from UK and Ireland to 5 million viewers in 45 cities across China.   The SRC’s main commercial partner in Mainland China is the China Merchants Bank to whom the SRC provides content and services that are directed towards their +10,0000 black (unlimited credit) credit card holders.
