Sainik School, Ghorakhal is a Sainik School established by the first prime minister of India i.e Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. He was very happy to start the school of the Sainik Schools Society in 1966. It is located in Ghorakhal, 4 kilometers next to the Bhowali town, at an altitude of about 6,000 feet (1,800 m) above sea level amidst the Kumaon Hills in the Nainital district of the state of Uttarakhand, India.
