As a 17 year veteran in the cannabis industry, Kristen Yoder has always had a soft spot for cannabis employees. Having managed cannabis businesses in nearly every sector, to consulting cannabis business owners, she created the CannaBS Detector podcast in 2018 to call out the insane amount of BS business owners were up against. 4 years later, she had grown tired of playing “Cassandra” to an industry more concerned with progress than its own well being, and decided to pivot. The Cynical Stoner podcast is the new pivot. No longer focused on BS business owners will deal with, she has now decided to pass the metaphorical mic to the EMPLOYEES of cannabis businesses. This industry has a bad habit of chewing up and spitting out passionate people, leaving them cynical, disillusioned and broke. We can’t fix the morale problem in the industry until we address it. This podcast is here to give cannabis employees an anonymous platform to share their perspectives, issues, and proposed solutions! In order to maintain anonymity of the employees, there’s a guest form to fill out, that will be read on the show. Once a month, Kristen will invite on an HR professional, labor attorney or union leader to help come up with solutions for the everyday BS occurring in cannabis companies across the country.
