Our Story Media Africa was created in 2017 to fill a void of positive stories surrounding the entire African continent and its people. Our website focuses on culture, business, technology and sports. We brought the RingAround App (developed in 2016) under our umbrella as another means of reaching out to the African diaspora. By the end of the year, we will have added a video streaming service (currently in Alpha testing), and plan on introducing audible books in 2019. RingAround App provides premium quality international phone service targeted primarily to the African market. We currently have over 30,000 downloads and 2,800 active users who have, over the past year, terminated more than 1.7 million minutes to Africa, with 80% going to Ethiopia. 15% are from Eritrea, Nigeria, and Kenya. 5% are from other destinations. These subscribers are actively engaged with the Ethiopian community both in the US and abroad and we have the capability to directly engage with them via SMS.
