The Hussman School of Journalism and Media's responsibility is to train the next generation of media professionals, including journalists, strategic communicators, instructors and researchers – and to serve journalism and communication professionals. Our most important assets are our students and graduates. We hold true to the core principles of journalism and communication education while leading the transformation in the digital communications environment. We are harnessing technology to enhance our mission of teaching, research and service. The result is a highly engaged school with a significant voice in the evolving issues of our time. The school offers bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees, and administers a variety of professional development and distance learning programs. Enrollment includes more than 1,000 undergraduates and 125 graduate students in addition to professional development and distance education students. Through a revamped curriculum, students learn the skills they need to succeed in the new media environment, whether they pursue careers in journalism, advertising, public relations or other communications fields. The school offers areas of study in journalism and advertising & public relations.
