The Anti-Violence Partnership of Philadelphia (AVP) addresses the cycle of violence in the Philadelphia area utilizing a wide variety of intervention, prevention and support services. AVP is committed to providing advocacy and support for crime victims and homicide co-victims, violence prevention training for children and adults, mental health services for victims and co-victims, and promoting systemic change on behalf of victims and co-victims throughout the region. AVP has four primary programs: Families of Murder Victims which provides a wide array of services to surviving family members and friends including court accompaniment and information about the criminal justice system; West/Southwest VIctim Services which provides comprehensive support services to crime victims in West Philadelphia; the Counseling Center which provides staff licensed therapists who provide counseling to adult and child victims and co-victims; and the Violence Intervention Prevention (VIP) Project which provides trauma therapy and violence prevention training in schools.
