Since 1998, we’ve been working to realize that vision with communities and development agencies across India, South Asia, Central Asia and South East Asia. With a body of work that covers strategic communication design, communication tool development & production, communication research, and capacity building for communities as well as civil society organizations, Ideosync has set new standards for participatory, community-driven C4SC interventions. Our work has helped communities take charge of their information needs, and transition from being passive consumers of external content to active disseminators of their own knowledge. Our work focuses on three primary areas: Community Media & Media Rights; Young People, Health, Gender & Sexuality; and New Communication Technologies for Change. Within each of these programmes, we undertake multiple types of communication processes: Our work with young people on communication around adolescent issues, for instance, combines our media production skills with extensive formative research. Our community media work has involved extensive participatory communication design, policy advocacy and capacity building for grassroots communities - as well as explorations of appropriate, low cost technologies for community radio. Our work on Reproductive, Maternal, Child Health & Nutrition has been about detailed communication landscapings and partnership building. Some projects have also combined more than one of these thematic areas - the kind we like best!
