Since the presentation of the first type-tested fully automatic pellet boiler in 1997, ÖkoFEN has become the innovator and export emperor of the pellet boiler industry. In 1989, Herbert Ortner and his wife Elfriede founded the company ÖkoFEN with the vision of replacing fossil heating systems in its wooded homeland with environmentally friendly and comfortable wood heating systems. More than 25 years later, the company is one of the world's leading manufacturers of pellet heating systems. Milestones in pellet heating technology As early as 1997 Herbert Ortner made with the presentation of the first type-tested fully automatic pellet boiler quite a stir.
