Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, established in 1959, is one of the premier institutions established by the Government of India. The aim of the Institute is to nurture young minds and drive forward leadership in technological innovation. Techkriti is the annual international technical & entrepreneurship festival of IIT Kanpur organized by the students of IIT Kanpur to realise this aim. Techkriti was first held in 1995 and has since grown into one of the largest technical festivals in Asia. The festival is held over four days every March, attracting participants from every corner of the country as well as from abroad, comprising a total footfall of over 40,000 from all over India and abroad. Apart from fierce and neck to neck competitions in various fields, such as Robotics, Electronics, Business, Design, Coding, Aero-modelling, Online events (Crypto, Stocksim etc.). We also have guest lectures and exhibitions to inspire the students to take that extra step towards innovation. In the past, Lr Dr A. P.J. Abdul Kalam (Ex-President and Founder of India’s missile program), Dr Hamid Karzai (Former Honorable President of Afghanistan), Vladimir Voevodsky (Fields Medalist from Russia), Douglas Osheroff (Nobel Laureate-Physics), Michael Foreman (NASA Astronaut), Marshall Strabala (Architect-BurjKhalifa), Prof. Henry Schaffer III (Peter Deby Awar Winner, USA), David Reitz (Executive Director, LIGO Laboratory), Walter Lewin (Astrophysicist, MIT), Rakesh Sharma (Astronaut, India), Alvin E Roth (Nobel Laureate, Economics) and many more have graced the students and academia during the festival. In this 21st century, brimming with technocrats and entrepreneurs Techkriti enters its 25th edition and is ready to, inspire to innovate and exterminate the social evils, through social campaigns.
