MATERIAL WITNESS LTD.
www.materialwitness.co.ukMATERIAL WITNESS LTD. is a specialist materials science investigation, consultancy, & research laboratory based in SHEFFIELD, United Kingdom. MW has a dedicated, in-house, microscopy & metallurgical laboratory, offering optical & electron microscopes, with magnifications up to 50,000X. All owned by MW and ready to go 24/7, so Material Witness can respond fast. This microscopic investigation technology is backed up by Dr. Iain Fielden's three decades of experience in materials & corrosion failure investigations, failure prevention, and R&D. With 350 Mbps internet in the lab and comprehensive capture technology, MW is able to simultaneously stream/share/conference high quality images and/or live video from multiple microscopes & cameras. This allows customers & interested parties to "sit in on" and discuss critical work, without incurring travel time & costs. This same connectivity & image sharing/conferencing also allows Dr Fielden to provide teaching & training remotely & internationally, in smaller, more convenient "chunks", also without the cost & inconvenience of travel and being away from base for entire days. Courses offered include:- >Forensic Investigation of Light Bulbs from Vehicle Collisions >Failure of Materials >Metallurgical Failure Investigations >Materials Characterisation & Investigation Techniques >Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) >Environmental SEM >High Temperature SEM > All these can be customised for specific industries/products Please ask if you would prefer a course presented face-to-face at your location. If you can attend a face-to-face short course in the UK, I highly reccomend the courses that I and my colleagues deliver at Sheffield Hallam University, as these offer "hands-on" lab sessions.
