Coral Bay Ecotours is one of the longest running tour operators on the World Heritage listed Ningaloo Reef, having begun operating 1994. Our vessels are the only ones to be specifically designed for tourist operations in the shallow reefs of the Ningaloo Reef. Our close association with the Baiyungu aboriginal people resulted in them not only acknowledging our efforts in cultural and ecological sensitivity and sustainability, but also honouring our vessels with traditional language names. Our glass bottom boat was named Nhanya-ku, meaning 'to gaze upon', and our marine ecotour / manta ray tour vessel was named Kurni-ku, meaning 'to seek'. Coral Bay Ecotours has been perpetually at the fore-front of establishing best practice tourism and environmental tours, and we are proudly the only 100% Carbon neutral tour company operating on the entire Ningaloo Reef area. In 2011 the Ningaloo Marine Park was awarded World Heritage status in recognition of the pristine environment and incredibly diverse marine life. Coral Bay is the only developed site on the Ningaloo Reef, with the climate being temperate/tropical. With the Tropic of Capricorn lying just kilometres south, and the Ningaloo Reef coming to within 1km of shore, the town experiences the balm of the tropics, but not the staggering heat or humidity.
