Audiofreq Studios is a Houston-based audio recording studio offering local and nationwide solutions to the music, film/video, and advertising industries.. Audiofreq Studios owner, Ryan Murphy, began to create his own compositions on piano in 2003. Even though Ryan is a classically trained pianist with the ability to write sheet music, he found his inspiration by hearing his own music played back instead of reading it. He went to the library to check out books on the art of recording music. After about a year of self-study, he began to record his friends in high school for a little extra cash. Over the years, Ryan continued to study audio production while using the money he earned to furnish the gear the studio needed to provide quality productions. In 2007, accomplished percussionist Matthew Short joined Ryan to advance the studio further by coming on board as assistant engineer. Ryan and Matt work together on every project, providing two sets of trained ears to make sure you get the best quality. Matt is also available as an in-house, rock-solid session drummer. Extensive research on microphone placement techniques, room acoustics, mixing, and mastering techniques have given Ryan and Matt the skills needed to fine-tune your project, whether you're creating a radio advertisement, mastering your mixtape, or converting your sound track to 5.1 surround in your short film.
