Tonkin + Taylor was established as a partnership in Auckland in 1959 by two engineers involved in the construction of the Auckland Harbour Bridge. The company grew steadily as a specialist geotechnical consultancy, developing water resources and specialist civil engineering skills in the 1970s and entering environmental consultancy in the early 1980s. We were involved in New Zealand’s engineering export efforts in the early 1970s and have been operating in Malaysia for over 40 years and the Philippines for approximately 25 years.
