Bushfire Volunteers is a trading name of the Association of Volunteer Bush Fire Brigades of WA Incorporated and is the peak body for the State's 560+ Volunteer Bush Fire Brigades and their 26,000 volunteers. It is also recognised as a 'prescribed association' by the Government of Western Australia. Our Vision A strong, independent and respected advocacy agency and the united voice for Volunteer Bush Fire Brigades in Western Australia. Our Mission To represent Bush Fire Brigade Volunteers and advocate for their optimum health, welfare, safety and recognition by: •being knowledgeable of and responsive to their needs •delivering transparent and accountable processes •developing relationships and alliances with stakeholders •being proactive and influential in decision making and policy development Structure of the AVBFB Zone representatives are elected for a two year term in alternate years. There are nine (9) zones which will contain Bush Fire Brigades located within Local Government areas in the following regions: •Pilbara/Kimberley •Midwest/Gascoyne •Goldfields/Midlands •North Metro •South Metro •South West •Lower South West •Upper Great Southern •Lower Great Southern
