The Indonesia Development Forum (IDF) is a platform for national dialogue on development. Hosted by the Ministry of National Development Planning, IDF brings together leaders in government, civil society, academia, and the private sector to discuss solutions to Indonesia’s key development challenges. The National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) will hold the second Indonesia Development Forum (IDF) on July 10-11, 2018 in Jakarta with the support of the Government of Australia through the Knowledge Sector Initiative (KSI). The theme of this year’s forum is “Pathways to Tackle Regional Disparities Across the Archipelago”, which builds on the theme of IDF 2017 on “Fighting Inequality for Better Growth”. The forum will showcase research and successful practices from experts and practitioners across Indonesia and internationally, with the aim of generating recommendations for the 2020-2024 National Medium-Term Development Plan. This will support Indonesia to refine its strategies for closing the gaps between regions and ensuring that all Indonesians benefit from future growth and development. Sub-themes 1. Regional Growth Centres: What Works Best? 2. Narrowing The Gaps At The Periphery 3. Delivering Basic Services To Reduce Regional Disparity 4. Unlocking The Potential Of The Digital Economy For Regional Development 5. Connecting The Archipelago 6. Innovations In Local Governance And Development 7. Smarter Funding For Better Outcomes Abstracts on the sub-themes for IDF 2018 are now invited. Abstracts should be no more than 250 words and may be submitted in either English or Bahasa Indonesia. The deadline for submission is 8 May 2018. Notification of acceptance will be provided by 8 June 2018. Click on the sub-themes to find out more and to submit your abstract.
