Sinds 1997 staat Lightning Leiden bekend als de American Football Vereniging van de stad Leiden en haar omgeving. De vereniging streeft er te allen tijden naar, de sport american football te spelen op het hoogst haalbare niveau. Om dit te bereiken bouwt de vereniging op haar leden die beter bekend staan als de ‘Lightning Family’. De vereniging wordt gevormd door een sociale en eensgezinde club sportieve mensen die gezamenlijk streven naar gezelligheid, sportiviteit en prestaties. English: Since 1997, Lightning Leiden is known as THE American Football Club of the city of Leiden and it’s surroundings. The club always strives to play American Football at the highest possible level. To achieve this, the club builds on its members, those better known as the ‘Lightning Family’. This family and the club form a social and equal minded group of people that aims to be and have fun, promotes sportsmanship and focusses on getting achievements.
