At GALS Inc. our mission is to create, articulate and disseminate the ‘how to’ of embodied leadership development. We do this through: - Building gender-based schools and school-inspired programs - Creating cutting-edge curriculum on embodied learning - Convening and participating in thought leader conversations regarding gender-based and movement infused education - Partnering with other organizations committed to issues of diversity, equity and inclusion - Consulting with non-school organizations to integrate movement-based practices to increase productivity and employee engagement - Sharing our voice through writing and speaking If we build and sustain schools and school programs and deliver with fidelity the embodied learning program, then we will create a critical mass of students who are comfortable with their identity and will lead, live and work in an equitable manner. If we create a platform with a common language and a canon of materials that showcase the impact of movement-based and relational learning, then more people and influencers will embrace, promote and invest in a new leadership paradigm with a balance of power. If we scale the model to enough sites, then the education system, region by region, district by district, will redefine measures of achievement to embrace the whole human. If we professionally train a critical mass of education professionals in the embodied learning program, then the paradigm of an educator will have as part of its foundation optimal wellness, interpersonal experience and a positive gender focus.
