Clubhouse The space is run by system of mutual agreement. This is our clubhouse and we are collectively responsible for it. The system also needs to be flexible, and allow for spontaneity. Usage We have rented the clubhouse space to promote the mutual and social benefit of our members. This is what makes us a social club. We are about member benefit and not public benefit. Our mission statement: Canoe Social Club is a member-based social club in Seattle, Washington that exists to foster an environment wherein its members are challenged and supported in creation of art, community and creative solutions. We use our clubhouse for ideas that are congruent with both our mission and our objective. Clubhouse usage has nothing to do with the space at all; it’s about the people. Here are some starting/beginning guidelines: - Events should be about the members, not about the space (the people should be essential to the idea.) - No event in the clubhouse should need/have a press release. - A high member to guest ratio should be an event goal
