The Alliance Française de Sacramento was founded in 2000, and now counts more than 600 members and 250 students. We offer French language courses at all levels for adults and children as well as cultural events throughout the year. The Alliance Française was created in 1883 in Paris to promote the French language and culture and to foster friendly relations between France and the rest of the world. It is a non-governmental, nonprofit organization with the largest network of French language and cultural centers in the world. There are 1,200 Alliance chapters in 112 countries, including 140 chapters in the United States, serving over 400,000 students.
