The Sound of Sickle is a charity initiative that aims to raise awareness around Sickle Cell. Through raised awareness we wish to create a community that connects sufferers of the condition with one another, to help provide a support group for one another. Although there are 35,000 children born each year with the condition in the UK alone, there are not many charitable causes that raise awareness for such a life-changing condition. Of those existing organisations, an even smaller amount specifically targets adolescents through to young adults. TSS aims to raise awareness, educate and support those groups with a strong focus on those from the Afro-Caribbean communities.
