The business was originally founded in 1986 in Bournemouth by Richard Wheeler who owned and ran the business until his untimely and tragic death in a light aircraft accident in April 2010. The business was incorporated as Space Industries Limited in 1991 and since 2010 has been owned and run by Kevin Andrews who had previously been a director and shareholder. In December 2007 the business was relocated to new offices on the Avon Causeway in Christchurch, which allowed the business to grow and expand its already extensive customer base. Space Industries have a broad range of in-house skills and services and deliver these through the five business sectors: Space Construction, Space Planning, Space Interiors, Space Mezzanines and Space Cleanrooms. Both Industrial/Commercial and a variety of Residential construction projects are procured and delivered through Space Construction. Works offered can range from a commercial 'tin shed' factory unit to an extension or refurbishment of a residential property. Through Space Planning all projects can be conceived, drawn in both 2D and 3D, Planning Applications and Building Regulation Application can be prepared using our in-house designers and technicians. Planning Applications are often supported with both CAD drawings and a bespoke process of Photo Volumorphic Enhancement, which has been accepted by a number of Planning Departments around the UK.
