A FERTIPRADO nasce em 1990 com base no conhecimento técnico e filosofia do Eng. Agrónomo David Crespo, que se dedicou ao estudo de sistemas de produção animal baseados em pastagens e forragens como solução para a sustentabilidade dos sistemas agro-pecuários. O desenvolvimento de um projecto agro-pecuário baseado nesta filosofia na Herdade dos Esquerdos, agora Fertiland, propriedade da família Crespo, permitiu validar os conceitos e adaptar técnicas de utilização e maneio, estimulando a criação da empresa, como instrumento de partilha e divulgação das técnicas desenvolvidas. FERTIPRADO was founded in 1990, based on the technical knowledge and philosophy of the agronomist David Crespo who devoted a part of his life to the study of livestock systems, based on pasture and forage, as a solution to the sustainability of crop-livestock systems. The development of a crop-livestock project based on this philosophy on the farm “Herdade dos Esquerdos”, owned by the Crespo family, allowed the validation of these concepts and the adaptation of usage and handling techniques, bringing about the creation of the FERTIPRADO company as a way to share and disseminate the techniques that had been developed. Our mission is develop a combination of activities of research, development, marketing and technical assistance, in order to give farmers solutions for a better quality of animal feed, according to their needs and to their farm activity, contributing in this way to improving the profitability of crop-livestock companies.
