Cardiomyopathy is a disease of the heart muscle that affects people of all ages and is mostly inherited. It cannot be cured but can be treated and managed, and we are here to help. Services for healthcare professionals We provide services to doctors and nurses like our medical conferences, training resources and expert advice to increase understanding of the diagnosis, care and management of cardiomyopathy. If you are a healthcare professional, please contact our medical director, Robert Hall, on robert.hall@cardiomyopathy.org Services for people affected by cardiomyopathy If you have cardiomyopathy we will listen to your worries and offer practical advice to you, your friends and family. Call us on 0800 0181 024 (free from UK landlines) during usual office hours or email info@cardiomyopathy.org We can refer medical queries to our specialist cardiomyopathy nurse. You can get in touch with other people affected by cardiomyopathy through our social media groups, and share experiences and tips on living well with cardiomyopathy. We have volunteer-led groups across the UK where people affected by cardiomyopathy can share problems and experiences, and know that they are not alone. We hold special one-day events around the UK to give people affected by cardiomyopathy more information and advice on living with the condition. We can put you in touch with a volunteer who has faced the same challenges as you, and undergone similar treatment. Understanding cardiomyopathy is important to coping with the condition and getting on with life.
