In the 1980's SILC created the concept of the Linguistic Bath where students are completely immersed in the life of a foreign host family; 'LIVE' language trips were also conceived by the SILC team: language courses take place during excursions and visits to museums, markets, monuments, and events, enabling students to explore, learn and use the language in context rather than in a traditional classroom situation. SILC recently launched the 'Trip & Chat' where students can select their local host family to suit their aims, requirements and personality.
