Bible. Grace. Family. The church of our Lord Jesus Christ has been entrusted with a critical message—a message that an increasingly post-Christian South Orange County desperately needs. In the midst of a culture that encourages people to go their own way, we at Coast are convinced that the real truth about life, faith, and the universe is communicated by the Bible in and through deep, involved study and preaching. In the midst of a culture that increasingly treats people as means and not ends, we are convinced that lives shaped by God's absolutely unconditional Grace—expressed once and for all in the substitutionary sacrifice of His Son Jesus—offer the loving, hospitable welcome for which all human beings were designed. In the midst of a culture that isolates, alienates, and divides, we are convinced that the Spirit creates a united, peaceful Family in the church, embedding all and sundry into relationships of mutual love and commitment that preview life in the coming kingdom of our Lord. Bible. Grace. Family. These are the values on which our church was founded in 1967. If anything, they are more radical, more countercultural, and more hope-inspiring today than they were then.
