Lithuanian Basketball Federation is the official national governing body of basketball in Lithuania. The aims of the organization are to: 1) develop the game of basketball in Lithuania by using it as a tool for promotion of healthy lifestyle, physical education, recreation & leisure; 2) organize national basketball competitions for youth & adults; 3) coordinate and monitor all processes related to basketball in Lithuania; 4) prepare and send national basketball teams to Olympic, World & European basketball championships, as well as other important sports events; 5) create the best conditions for the development of coaches & referees, organize seminars and workshops for them; 6) facilitate social change through basketball by organizing social initiatives for the promotion of healthy lifestyle, sports for all, equal opportunities and social inclusion.
