GALANTE SOCIEDADE DE ADVOGADOS is a law firm founded by the partner Juliana Galante which goal is to provide high quality legal services to the clients, based on personal attendance, deep knowledge of clients’ business, strategic risk view on transaction structuring and legal advice, all backed by more than 20 years of experience on legal and business fields of Brazilian financial market. JULIANA GALANTE began her career working as a trader in the Trade Structured Finance Department of Cargill Agrícola S.A. and followed working as lawyer in the banking, capital markets and finance law department of a full service law firm. She then worked as senior in-house lawyer in the Legal Department of Cargill Agrícola S.A. and in the Legal Department of Banco Itaú BBA S.A. After that she worked in the Agricultural Investments Department from MetLife and joined boutique law firms as partner in charge of banking and finance. Graduated from São Paulo Business School of Getúlio Vargas Foundation– FGV/SP (1995) and graduated from Law School of University of São Paulo – USP (2000). She has a master degree (LLM Master of Laws) in Banking Law and Financial Regulation from London School of Economics and Political Science-LSE, London, UK (2004). She worked as in-house lawyer on several debt restructuring syndicated loans, involving ethanol and sugar companies after 2008 derivative crises and on relevant project finance workouts. She was technically responsible for Project Finance in the Legal Department of Banco Itaú BBA S.A. Nowadays her practice is concentrated on trade finance, agribusiness, banking law, structured finance transactions, derivatives and debt restructuring. She represents financial institutions, trading companies, investment funds and companies from agricultural and timber sectors.
