Manchester Giants is a professional basketball team that plays in the British Basketball League. The club was started in July 2012, by a group of basketball enthusiasts who wanted to bring a BBL team back to Manchester. The club as well as competing in the top British league set out to create a totally inclusive community basketball club within Greater Manchester. The club is a Sport England-England Basketball Clubmark accredited club as well as being an England Basketball 5 star club. Both accreditations outline the clubs commitment to the development of basketball players, coaches, officials and volunteers, its approved codes of conduct and that the club provides a safe, child friendly environment for its members.
