Museum of Teaching and Learning (MOTAL)
www.motal.orgThe Museum of Teaching and Learning's (MOTAL) goals are to raise social awareness of how education shapes our children, to build respect for the teaching profession, to promote citizens to action, and to inspire change in educational practice. MOTAL’s exhibitions tell intriguing and informative STORIES about people—individuals who have made a significant difference for others and/or those who have very special educational experiences. Two traveling exhibitions are available to rent (usually for a three-month period): A CLASS ACTION: THE GRASSROOTS STRUGGLE FOR SCHOOL DESEGREGATION IN CALIFORNIA TWO ROADS, ONE JOURNEY: EDUCATION IN CHINA AND THE UNITED STATES MOTAL’s collections of artifacts all have stories to tell as well. The people who have donated these treasures have background anecdotes that add to their value. The people who see them (and often touch them) often reminisce and always ask questions. Events in public programming and fundraising are designed to enhance and promote the messages of our exhibitions and collections. This groundbreaking nonprofit has established a positive record of successful exhibitions and inventive leadership in a unique niche within the museum world.
