HERA (Her Equality Rights & Autonomy)
www.enterprisingspirit.orgEstablished in 2005, HERA (Her Equality Rights, and Autonomy) empowers women affected by human trafficking and other forms of violence, conflict, and exploitation through entrepreneurship training, mentoring, and grant making programs. Our entrepreneurship training programmes operate primarily in the UK and France and our grant making activities target Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, Romania, and Ukraine. In partnership with business schools and dedicated mentors, HERA mobilises business, academic expertise, and entrepreneurship to prevent and counter the multibillion business of human trafficking. We achieve this by providing survivors with the professional skills, networks, and financial resources to pursue their career ambitions. HERA supports the economic autonomy of women that have experienced violence and exploitation by enabling them to leverage their entrepreneurial strengths toward successful reintegration into the formal economy. We also aim to prevent trafficking and re-trafficking by encouraging viable economic alternatives to dangerous and irregular migration for work. Survivors of trafficking, violence, and conflict demonstrate impressive resilience and a desire to pursue their career aspirations and financial independence. Achieving these goals often requires the development of new skills, professional networks, and initial financial support. HERA endeavours to provide all of the above.
