URJO was established in 2007 in Kolkata to empower 40+ women and nurture underprivileged children. It is a voluntary organization that emphasizes the power within women, notwithstanding ignorance of it. The word URJO literally means “Power”. The objective of the foundation is to promote health awareness, enable and motivate 40+ women to improve their preparedness by providing them medical advice and guidance. We aim to reassure and restore self confidence in women of midlife crisis, to cope up with mental and social changes in life due to menopause and to realise their full potential. We also aim to provide the overall development of underprivileged girl children by training them in education, health, and vocational skills to become independent and self-sufficient.
