What I have noticed is that there are many, many, many! people who carry HR responsibilities as part of their role – and they need support. That support is needed because, honestly, the Australian IR system is broken. It causes frustration, confusions and distress for business owners and administrators. The IR system is difficult to understand and access to timely information is hard to get at the right price. I talk openly about the broken IR system because I want business owners to know that they are not alone. Every employer in Australia is feeling HR pain in one way or another. For me personally, my purpose is to channel my energy and experience into relieving HR pain. I am the HR’s, HR. The professional, trusted advisor that champions small businesses in Australia and supports people to complete their HR duties, not do it for them. Employers with less than 50 staff are not going to have the need for a permanent HR on their team, and businesses with less than 100 staff have stand-alone HR advisor. These people are my people. In the Workforce Positive Collective we don’t talk about HR theory, or management theory, or thought leadership. You can go to any certificate course or tertiary degree to get the theory.
